Frambooske.quilty.things

Frambooske ziet graag bloemen en zeker tulpen.  Misschien wat ongewoon om een vaas wit-roze tulpen in huis te hebben in de winter, ik weet het niet?  Gisteren sneeuwde het hier een beetje, net genoeg om een wit laagje op het gras te leggen.  Ik verlang naar de kleuren van de bloemen en de warmte van de lentezon... Frambooske loves flowers en certainly tulips!  Maybe a little strange to have them on the table in the winter, but never mind.  It snowed a little yesterday, enough to cover the grass with a little white blanket.  I long for the garden to get some colour back and the brightness of the spring sun... Er zijn plannen voor de tuin.  Er zitten enkele naaiprojectjes in mijn hoofd en zelfs eentje 'op bestelling'! En...  ik begin een  nieuwe job in de lente.  Oef, gedaan met tot 10 uur 's avonds en weekends te werken.  Ik werkte in zorg voor een jaar terwijl O nog zo klein was.  't Was ideaal want we hadden geen opvang nodig maar ik heb er nu toch echt genoe

Merci aan iedereen die deelnam in de give away!  Jullie gaven mij een paar ideetjes en werken aan een schitterende lijst dit jaar:  Kerstversiering, knuffels, een leesmatras, slabbekes, quilts, rokjes, zomerjurken, nieuwe baby cadeautjes, lappenpoppen, verkleedkleren voor de kinderen, handtassen, dekentjes, baby speelgoed, zomerhoedjes, vlaggenlijntjes, vilten speelgoed, ritsen, broches, kussens, ovenhandschoenen, gordijnen, upcycling van hemden, een laptoptas, donsdeken hoezen, ....  Een heuse lijst!! Enkele weken geleden kreeg ik drie zakken beddengoed met 'Aha, jij naait graag... daar zul jij dan iets mee kunnen doen!'.  Wel inderdaad! Ik maakte een tochthond  - een obscene 2m 80 lang - voor in manliefs 'kantoor/garage'.  Het stofje vond ik ironisch grappig en ik denk niet dat hij de roze flanel die ertussen zat geapprecieerd zou hebben. Het is dus een 'plain lazy' Tocht monster geworden: A couple of weeks ago I received three bags of fabric and bedlinen accompanied with:  'You sew so... then you can do something with these'.  Well yes indeed!   I made a draft excluder - it's an obscene 2m 80 - to go into my better half's 'office/garage'.  I thought this fabric was quite funny and I don't think he would have appreciated the pink flannel which was also in the bags. And so now we welcome the 'plain lazy' Monster draft excluder:

One of my friends is expecting a little boy...     Binnenkort bevalt een vriendin van me en ik weet dat het een jongetje wordt! Ze heeft al een dochtertje en dus babyspulletjes genoeg... Maar zo'n klein ventje heeft toch zijn eigen zacht fleece dekentje nodig om onder te dromen? She already has a little girl and so plenty of baby gear... But doesn't a wee boy need his own little cozy blanket to snuggle, sleep and dream under? All week long the wind has been howling around our house.  The fences have been tested to within an inch of their lives.  The garden battered.  The chickens, no doubt, unhappy.  Our house is quite exposed on top of a hill, looking out onto the water.  I have been sat, sewing, listening to the wind singing through the chimney. Today we got up to a still day, all was calm and the sun was trying hard to reassure us it was still there, gently warming the Earth and promising Spring will arrive before too long. The decision was made to go out for a walk and get some fresh air after spending the week inside hiding from the elements.  We had hot chips, seasoned by the salt on our lips - a little flavour surprise.  As we looked out from the pier muffled sounds searched their way through the mist.  People laughing, a dog barking excitedly at the prospect of chasing its toy across the beach.  We discovered a city lost in the clouds.  The fog drew in from across the water, quietly and unno

Bij ons thuis lopen er geen meisjes rond en dus maakt Frambooske niet vaak 'meisjesspul'.  Toch had ik zin om eens iets echt 'meisje' te maken - voor het vier maand oude dochtertje van vrienden. There are no little girls in our house and so Frambooske rarely makes 'girlie stuff'.  Still, I really fancied sewing something sweet, happy and summery for Lilly - our friends' four month old baby girl. Het patroon werd gekocht bij  Van Katoen  (al voor Kerst eigenlijk, maar met de feestdagen lag de naaimachine stil).  Dit patroontje doet goed de ronde in de blogwereld (en in the real world dus ook hé).  Ik zag dit kleedje hier en vond het zo'n leuk ding dat ik het ook wel eens wilde probeerden. En vandaag, op een stormachtige winderdag, heb ik een gaatje gevonden om dit zomerjurkje voor Lilly af te werken. Frambooske begint het nieuwe jaar met een nieuw speldenkussentje.  Losjes gebaseerd op de kaft van het  Zakka Style  boek, waarin ik wel graag eens zou snuisteren.  Gemaakt van turkoois vilt, een stofje van toen en op de achterkant een stoer karootje om alles mooi in balans te houden.  Het was ook de eerste keer dat ik me aan paspel waagde. Frambooske starts the new year with a new pincushion - I actually didn't have one yet!  The design is loosely based on the front page of the Zakka Style book, a book I'd really like to have a look in.  This little cushion is made of turquoise felt, some fabric from then , and tartan check on the back to balance everything nicely. Frambooske maakte ook een tweede versie, eentje met schattige eekhoorntjes erop.  Deze wordt weggegeven!
